Choosing a wax melt warmer
Choose a warmer specifically designed for wax melts. Check the product details for its heat source, size and operating instructions, then consider where it will sit in your home.
A tealight warmer uses a flame; an electric warmer uses its specified electrical heat source. Follow the instructions for the exact model you choose. Oil burners, candle warmers and wax melt warmers are not automatically interchangeable.
Complete your choice with scented wax melts. Check each listing for what is included, rather than assuming melts or tealights come with the warmer.

Using your wax melt warmer
- Read the warmer and wax melt instructions. Use the recommended portion and do not overfill the dish.
- Place the warmer on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials, children and pets.
- Use only the specified tealight or electrical supply and follow the model’s operating limit. Never leave a warmer unattended.
- Extinguish or switch off before leaving the room. Allow the warmer and wax to cool before handling, and clean only as directed by the manufacturer.

Can I put wax melts in any oil burner?
Use a burner or warmer specifically intended for wax melts. A device designed only for oils may not be suitable; check its manufacturer’s instructions rather than judging by its appearance.
Which tealight should I use?
Use the type and size specified by the warmer manufacturer. Do not substitute a larger or longer-burning tealight simply to extend a session.
Why is wax still left after the scent has faded?
Wax melts release fragrance as they warm, but the wax itself remains in the dish. Once the scent has faded, switch off or extinguish the warmer, let it cool and remove the wax as directed before adding a fresh portion.
How should I clean my warmer?
Follow the instructions for your model after switching it off or extinguishing the tealight and allowing it to cool. Do not pour wax down the drain. Stop using a warmer that is cracked, damaged or faulty.
